BANDUNG-Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) of Indonesia Rudiantara said that currently industry media had changed into digital that made the business in broadcasting field also changed.
This was revealed by Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) when opening International Conference “Media for World Harmony” and 5th Annual Meeting Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (IBRAF), in Bandung, Wednesday (2/22/2017)
Rudiantara also observed that media was very influential to the personal and social life. He expected from this event the participants from various countries could share their knowledge that would create media that educates the nation.
“Media is very influential to the social life in the society,” he explained.
In the same place, the Governor of West Java Ahmad Heryawan said that media could be massively used to spread the world message of peace. Even the message was not provocative ones that could break peace among people in the world.
“We present this via media for world harmony, not for making conflicts so that there will be many misunderstandings. That is the main message from West Java to the world,” he said.
According to him, that media could convey a message of peace to the world through million words that they produced everyday. It included a clarification to the wrong messages or hoax that currently happened in the world, whether through social media, conventional, or electronic media and internet.
“Because media are producing million of words. Imagine that those words do not build harmony, and it is read by million people that can affect their minds not in harmony,” he said.
The man who is familiarly greeted Aher adds that by taking the message
“From West Java for A Harmonious World, Media for World Harmony,” hopefully media can have a role in taking care the harmony of the world through those million words.
“As the Governor, I expect that this is a very valuable meeting. A meeting that can make commitment that media exist to harmonize the world, to make our mind better,” he concluded.
