BANDUNG-West Java Provincial Government will give life insurance to fishermen and the insurance premiums will be paid by the Central Government.
Head of Maritime and Fisheries Affairs Department of West Java, Jafar Ismail, said that the fishermen will be given (fishermen identity) card as a proof that their jobs are guaranteed by the Government.
"It is a proof that their profession are guaranteed by the Government," he said to the journalists in Bandung, Thursday (16/1/2017).
Jafar explained that the aim of the insurance is to regenerate the fishermen in West Java. Currently, the number of fishermen in West Java is decreased rapidly.
The compensation can reach 200 million rupiah if the fishermen die while they are going out to sea, and 160 million rupiah if the fishermen die of illness.
"The aim is to regenerate the fihermen in West Java. The compensation is various, which are 200 million rupiah if the fishermen die while they are going out to sea, and 160 million rupiah if the fishermen die of illness," he said.
