West Java Will Promote Tourism to Sweden

BANDUNG-West Java Provincial Government will increase the promotion of tourism in the country of Sweden. This was done in order to increase tourist arrivals from the country.

Regional Secretary of West Java Iwa Karniwa said that, so far West Java has not been glimpsed by tourists from Sweden. Swedish tourists know more about Bali. "Bali is known by Sweden tourists," said Iwa, in Bandung, (11/2) yesterday.

Yet according to Iwa, Sweden became an interesting market for the tourism industry. Because of the total population of around 10 million inhabitants Sweden almost entirely do traveling all over the world, including to Indonesia.

"Swedish population is almost 10 million. That's the 10 million do traveling twice a year. Once traveling to spend 1,400 dollars. This is a potential market," he said.

He continued, the Indonesian Ambassador to Sweden also suggested that the provincial government increase the promotion of travel to Sweden. "We asked (the Embassy) to enhance the promotion of tourism," he said.

To that end, it plans in July later the provincial government together with the travel agents are ready to hold tourist promotion activities in Sweden. Department of Tourism and Culture of West Java has been instructed to prepare a variety of art to be shown in Sweden. (Even)
