KARAWANG-Karawang Regent, dr. Cellica Nurrachadiana signed a joint agreement in the framework of cooperation between the Government of Karawang Regency on Tera Service, Re-tera and Supervision of Legal Metrology with the Provincial Government of West Java, on Wednesday (08/02), located in the West Hall of Gedung Sate Bandung. The same is done by the Government of Purwakarta Regency and Subang regency government.

On the occasion, the West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan delivers his message, "In the future after the signing of this handover, the authority of Legal Metrology (tera, re-tera, and supervision) moved to the Regency / City. Devolution was not expected to hamper the re-tera services, because not all of the Regency / City could manage it, "he said.

Aher added, "In principle, the transfer of authority is to facilitate service to the community, especially related to standardization and consumer protection. Consequently indeed every Regency / City shall have the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of Legal Metrology. However, because today in West Java only have 5 (five) UPTD, then I hope that there is a cooperation between regions. "

Related with the area around it (which does not have UPTD), Aher asks that it should be facilitated with cooperation between regions in the province so that all existing activities are legal.

Aher stressed, transfer of authority should not be postponed because of unpreparedness. Therefore, the delay means a violation of Law No. 23 of 2014 on Regional Government.

"This violation of the Act if to be postponed. Because this is an Act command, should not be canceled by the Minister or the Director General. So whatever we need to run, "he said.
