Jabar Caang Constrained Remote Area Residents Location Access

GARUT-In year 2017, PLN West Java Distribution plans to increase electricity access to 1815 villages. This plan would be strengthened with the construction of 319 pieces of substations, 282.78 kms medium voltage network and 600 kms low voltage network.

The amount of electricity infrastructure development as well as the areas to be electrified in 2017 are planned to increase when compared with the realization in 2016. This is because the closer of achievement targets of Jabar Caang less than two years away.

However, to achieve this there are still obstacles. One of the biggest obstacles encountered in the field in realizing this Jabar Caang include hard access to reach resulting the distribution of a number of electrical installation material such as concrete poles, cable reels, and electric transformer becomes obstructed and takes longer.

"Besides planting concrete poles are also hampered by rainy weather that often hit rural areas to be electrified. In fact, sometimes the access road (infrastructure) can only be traversed three weeks after the rain stopped, "said Iwan Purwana GM of West Java PLN, Wednesday (8/2).

For the people in the region that still do not have access to electricity can apply by contacting the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources or the local government authority in charge of electrical energy in the area. Then the application is submitted to the PLN, and will do the assessment for the construction of electricity infrastructure in the region. jo
