BANDUNG-The condition of chili price till the second week of January in West Java is still in the position of Rp. 119 000 per Kg. Various efforts have been made in order to make chili price decline. But the challenge is too much.
It thus, expressed by West Java Head of Industry and Trade, Hening Widiatmoko in a statement to reporters, Friday (13/1).
Hening, further explained the Local Government along with the Central Government through the state-owned enterprises engaged in trade, PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia has taken steps to prevent chili price may fall.
The steps that have been done, including through delivery of chili pepper supply from Makassar and Gorontalo. From both these areas, the number of chili pepper stock up to 1.5 tonnes. However, with the arrival of the supply, can only supplying the needs of chili pepper for Bandung.
"Chili delivery from both places, has not been able to lower the price of chili optimally because the delivery is done by airplane so the shipping cost is high" he said.
The circumstances have an impact on the high price of chili pepper. With the high cost of shipping chili pepper, it also led to the limited chili stock. For repairs to the front, obviously Hening it needs coordination between the government and the Government of Regency / City should be coordination in terms of determining the time of planting.
