BANDUNG-State Electricity Company (PLN) Customer with a power of 900 VA will pay more starting January on electric bills, related to the removal of subsidies for PLN customers 900 VA are considered capable.
In the socialization which was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Energy, PLN and TNP2K, the Government confirm withdrawal of subsidies was not the electricity tariff hikes or TDL.
"There is no increase in electricity tariff, but that is the removal of subsidies on customers who can afford, which has been heavily subsidized in the class of 900 VA" said Rendi Jayalaksamana, Head of Energy, Ministry of Home Affairs DG Regional Development, in Bandung, Thursday (12/1).
Targeted subsidy removal was done to save the Government's budget. During this time the government has had to spend more than Rp 2 trillion for electricity subsidies.
"Previously there were about 46 million customers who are subsidized, but are entitled to a subsidy only 4.1 million subscribers" he explained.
Rendi added, subsidized and non-subsidized customer data that have been previously validated, which is the result of cooperation between the PLN and the Government of the data collection. (Even)
