BANDUNG-RZ (Rumah Zakat) dispatched a team of volunteers to Myanmar to distribute aid to Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine and Maungdaw. In a humanitarian mission this time, RZ volunteers will distribute aid in the form of food, clothing, and hijab for Muslims there.
"The Departure of RZ Volunteers to Myanmar is an implementation of the Humanitarian Flotilla mission for Rohingya. The forms of assistance submitted in accordance with the monitoring priority needs on conflict site, "said Heny Widiastuti, Chief Program Officer RZ, Thursday (24/11).
Previously, RZ together with other social institutions that are members of the SEAHUM (Southeast Asia Humanitarian Committee) has held a meeting to specify measures as a concern for conflict involving Rohingya. Some of the steps to be taken related to Rohingya conditions include the conveyance of mass opinion in front of the Myanmar Embassy and conduct Humanitarian Flotilla mission for Rohingya by sending humanitarian aid in various Myanmar hotspots.
Heny added, RZ will continue to be committed to provide further assistance in accordance with the development of the situation in Myanmar. apart dispatched volunteers, RZ also will participate in the conveyance mass opinion in front of the Myanmar embassy in Jakarta which will be implemented Friday (25/10) tomorrow.
