    There Will Be Digital Platform in Indonesia Tourism


    BANDUNG-digital world will be important infrastructure in the development and management of tourism industry or business in Indonesia. One of the Indonesian government is now being developed, namely Indonesia Tourism Exchange or ITX. It was disclosed by Indonesia Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya in the closing event Bandung ICT Expo & Anja 2016 at Convention Hall Telkom University, Telecommunications Street No. 1 Terusan Buah Batu, Bandung Regency, on Friday afternoon (10.21.16).

    ITX is a digital market place platform which connecting demand with supply in an ecosystem of tourism.

    "For the digital tourism named ITX, Indonesia Tourism Exchange. What is it? It is a market place, digital marketplace that brings buyers and seller. So later any travel agent, airline, accommodation, we collect them all there. Please feel free to trade, "said Arief.

    Further Arief, in a month of ITX launched, there are 5,100 hotels listed in this application. He is also targeting more than 11.000 hotels will be registered in ITX this year, so that will facilitate OTA (Online Travel Agent) transactions with ITX platform. This application is provided by Telkom and can be used in smartphone devices.

    ITX was targeted to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2017. Arief added by digitizing this way Indonesia will be able to compete with the global world, because 70 percent of the world tourism industry has been using digital.

    In line with the vision of the central government, the Government of West Java Province continues to increase the role of ICT (Information Communication Technology) - it is not only in the world of tourism, but also in realizing governance management and public services.

    Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar present at this event said that it was done in order to improve effectiveness of local governments and the quality of democracy.

    "Since the year 2008, we - the Government of West Java Province has initiated the concept of West Java Cyber Province as a program intended to integrate ICT-based initiatives in the province, "said Vice Governor in his speech.

    West Java Province launched with three targets, namely: (1) Connect digitally all provincial government agencies, (2)
    Digital transformation of business processes on the provincial government, and (3) Improving e-literacy communities and the provision of affordable ICT facilities to the public.

    Bandung ICT Expo & Anja (National Appreciation Network Access) 2016 held in a series of 3rd anniversary of Telkom University. this Expo held from 19 to 21 October 2016 and presents exhibitions of various products from information technology leading companies.
