    There are 300 More Companies Pollute Citarum River

    BANDUNG-West Java provincial government soon will form SAMSAT Citarum Bestari to accelerate the implementation of the Clean, Beautiful, Healthy and Sustainable (Bestari) Citarum Movement.

    Later, Samsat which is consist of West Java Provincial Government, District / City Government Related, Regional Military Commander III / Siliwangi, West Java Police, the High Court, and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) will approach companies, including 300 more companies in Bandung who throw their waste to the Citarum River.

    "We have the companies' data. There are 300 companies in Bandung that throwing their waste and more in other places, "said Aher when met at Gedung Sate, Jl. Diponegoro No. 22, Bandung, on Monday (10.03.16).

    West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan (Aher) also believe that environmental issues in Citarum will be handled with the presence of the SAMSAT, because SAMSAT will do a persuasive approach to companies by promoting the settlement.

    It will be given an authorization in accordance with the duties and functions of agencies itself to formulate the problems experienced by the company which is resulting the of damange of the citarum river, so it can be solved by the proper solutions.

    "SAMSAT will invite these companies one by one and they may have an exposure, what kind of waste management they applied, and what plan they have in the future related to this issue, then we take a look closely the infraction or what kind of conformity and incompatibility with waste affairs. Then we will give feedbacks that your company must do this, for example. "Said Aher.

    Further, SAMSAT will also give guaranteed protection and safety to companies in order to avoid persons or parties who want to take profit or extortion with a promise to protect the company if carelessly dispose their waste. So, SAMSAT Citarum Bestari will ask the companies' commitment in order to manage the waste properly.

    "SAMSAT will have a duty to advocate them (comapnies), guaranteeing their security, ensure their legal certainty. But they should treat their waste properly, "said Aher.

    Until now, according to Aher, Citarum Bestari program has delivered significant results to the environmental conditions on the banks of the Citarum River. The rubbish that had been seen already reduced, although it still difficult to change people's behavior not to throw garbage or household waste to Citarum.
