DENPASAR-Chairman of Integrated Services Center for Women and Children (P2TP2A) West Java Netty Prasetiyani Heryawan explained unified strategy undertaken by the Government of West Java province in preventing and dealing with cases of trafficking in persons (human trafficking), in the presence of 34 Head of Women Empowerment and Child Protection provinces in Indonesia and no fewer than 200 members of the Task Force on the Prevention and Handling of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) Central and Local Levels.
"What is key to prevention and treatment of human trafficking in West Java? We already existing government policies, whether regulation or regulation. It is also a commitment of the Government of West Java province," said Netty at the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) Prevention and Handling of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) 2016, Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel in Kuta, Bali, on Monday (29.08.16).
According to Netty, the settlement of the problem of human trafficking is not limited to prevention and treatment, but also to empower the victims of trafficking are prone to new social problems, such as bullying, excluded from society, it is difficult to adapt back to lose the opportunity to build an independent economy.
Related strategies in handling TPPO, Netty argued promotive and preventive tips, through training and socializing. But all of it shall be supported by government programs and supporting infrastructure.
"We have shelters and safe houses, of course, decent and close to the people. We also set up a hotline P2TP2A, cooperation with the media, briefing the babinsa 4500, as well as care and community-based child protection," said Netty.
"Community involvement is very important, especially in motion-based child care and protection of society. It is certainly beneficial to raise social awareness against threats of violence to children," he added.
The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection National Coordination Meeting held with the theme "Increasing Role of Task Force Regency / City in Prevention and Treatment of Crime of Trafficking in Persons", in order to improve the prevention and treatment TPPO, and to optimize the implementation of policies that have been prepared.
Rakornas implemented until August 31, 2016 to bring the speakers of the Director of Shelter TPPO in Jordan, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, and the Criminal Investigation Police.
