BANDUNG- The Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar feel proud of the achievements of Sri Wahyu, an athlete from West Java who won the silver medal on weightlifter in Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016.
"We must cherish. Because of (getting) a silver at the Olympics is not an easy thing, It is a world class level achievement, we expect perhaps that in the future will get the gold," he said at Gedung Sate Bandung, Tuesday ( 08.09.16).
Deddy said a routine competition is one effective way of coaching.
He said that there will possibly be a bonus for the her from the Governor of West Java, but he is not promising anything.
"Insya Allah, I cannot guarantee anything since it is still uncertain" he said.
Sri Wahyu Agustiani, Saturday (06/08/2016), or Sunday morning local time, won the silver medal after posting a total of 192 kg class, 82 kg in the snatch and clean and jerk 107 kg. Sri was defeated by a lifters from Thailand, Sopita Tanasa with only by 8 kg difference.
This is the first debut of Yuni, a lifter from Bandung who was born on August 13, 1994, in a multi-biggest sporting event in the world. Yuni does look promising since the last three years. Since the gold medal in 2013 Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang, her performance continued to climb with a gold medal at the SEA Games in Myanmar in the same year.
Until now, Indonesia has managed to collect two silver medals from the same sports that weightlifting at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
