BANDUNG-Based on the findings of the Task Force of Criminal Investigation, the circulating counterfeit vaccines are imported as stated by the Head of the National Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) RI, Penny Kusumastuti Lukito.
"It is estimated that counterfeit vaccine was only 10 percent of the overall imported vaccines, and only 1 percent of them used in Indonesia," she told reporters at the Meeting Room of Bio Farma, Tuesday (02/08).
Penny appealed to the public to do vaccinations for their children in Government owned health facility and as for the private sector should only use vaccines produced and distributed by Bio Farma or authorized distributors who have a permission from the Ministry of Health.
"We also appeal to PT Bio Farma to continue to organize production management and distribution of vaccine so that all the needs can be met, this is done to achieve the success of the national vaccination program," she said. (Parno)
