    West Java Porwanas XII / 2016 has Officially Started



    BANDUNG-The Governor of West Java, Ahmad Heryawan (Aher) officially opened the National Sports Week Journalists (Porwanas) XII 2016 in Campus Stadium of Indonesia University of Education (UPI), Jl. Dr. Setiabudhi No. 299, Bandung on Tuesday (26/7).

    The beating of drums was done by Governor Ahmad Heryawan, along with West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno, governor of Bangka Belitung Rustam Effendi, Chairman of PWI Margiono, Chairman of PWI West Java Mirza Nulhadi, and other officials were present, as a sign of the official opening of the sporting event of national antarwartawan se -Indonesia this.

    Porwanas XII / 2016 will be held in Bandung, West Java from 26 to 30 July 2016. The event is focused on the sports facilities Campus UPI Bandung, as well as some gor in Bandung. In his speech, Chairman of PWI Margiono said that the main goal of this is as a venue Porwanas nostalgia and friendship of the journalists in Indonesia.

    "I consider that the most important thing in this event is gathering. Problem was the major achievement, but the friendship is paramount," said Margiono.

    Through this event, Margiono also hoped to increase the professionalism of the work of journalists in Indonesia. "Hopefully this Porwanas event could provide benefits for us all, provide learning, friendship, as well as professional development for journalists, especially us," he hoped.

    There are 1,807 journalists athletes who will compete in this year Porwanas. They came from 30 provinces while three other provinces were present but did not participate in the match. These athletes will compete in 10 sports, namely: athletics, billiards, bridge, bowling, badminton, chess, futsal, table tennis, tennis courts, and the competence of journalistic work (photographs, writings and radio reportage).

    Agree with Margiono, the governor expects in this event there will be no problems or conflicts, cheating and unsportsmanlike attitude, because this event is for friendship, joy and togetherness among the journalists. "Let us show that Porwanas this is the only event in our national properly uphold sportsmanship and honesty," Aher said in his speech.

    However, Aher also stressed that journalists should be able to educate the nation through the news. To that end, according Aher there needs to be a paradigm shift in the world of national news.

    "Beware an old idea which he said bad news is good news, good news is no news. It seems in fact that the icon did not manage to make a change in society," said Aher.

    "Therefore, with sportsmanship and fairness that we develop, let us bring bad news is bad news - good news is good news. Hopefully in this way then the society can change. For believed by us all that the opinions masses influenced strongly by the mass media, "he concluded.
