    In 2016, West Java will Add 2 Million Hectares of Rice Field



    Bandung Regency-The target to Add Planted area of ??West Java province in 2016 reached 2.18 million hectares of paddy fields, which is included in the national program of the National Plant Improvement Area.

    Agriculture Minister Andy Amran Sulaiman in Soreang Bandung regency, on Wednesday (20/7), said that West Java should be the best food producing province in Indonesia.

    "Last year West Java lose with East Java, but I am sure that this year and next year, West Java will achieve the number one producer of national food" he said.

    According to Amran, he hopes that it is not without reason, but based on the data of land and natural conditions and weather support.

    "This year we added the area of ??arable land in West Java, the weather factor also supports the presence of Lanina wet or dry climate, then agriculture will be greatly helped, especially rice" said Amran.

    West Java is expected to produce 1.2 million tons of wet paddy (GKP) in 2016, and when it reached Jabar will be able to supply the needs of the national rice is greater in the future. (PUN)
