BANDUNG-Each year, The volume of motorcycle home comers is continuously increasing. The Ministry of Transportation predicted that this year, the number of motorcycle home comers will reach 5,6 million people.
According to The Governor of West Java, Ahmad Heryawan, there is an improvement of management needed. He took free homecoming facility as an example. The people could take benefit from this event while their motorcycle could be sent using an expedition vehicle to be used on their hometown.
This is necessary, because by doing so, the density level of Eid Homecoming will be reduced. This will result in a lower level of traffic congestion as well as improving the safety of homecoming trip.
Aher will attempt to coordinate with another concerning party such as West Java Regional Police Dept., Metrojaya Regional Police Dept., The Department of Transportation, as well as another stakeholder to get involved in managing these motorcycle riders.
"Next year, we hope that the motorcycle rider will be handled better. They could take benefit from free homecoming facility while their motorcycle could be sent using an expedition vehicle to be used on their hometown," said Aher.
Therefore, it is expected that through this programme, the lever of accident during homecoming trip will be reduced.
According to the data provided by the police, there are at least 3.048 cases of accident during homecoming trip on 2015. The accidents was the result of irresponsible driving as well as extreme wheather condition.
