    West Java Records 0.17% Deflation in October


    BANDUNG - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in West Java released the results of survey among the month of October 2015 in seven cities in West Java and it recorded deflation of 0,17%.

    Head for Statistics Distribution of BPJS West Java Province Doddy Gunawan said that despite deflation, there are cities that experienced the inflation. They are Sukabumi, Tasikmalaya and Cirebon.

    “Tasikmalaya is the highest inflation (0.59%) in West Java. According to BPS, it was caused of surge in prices of vegetables, especially tomatoes that dominate,” he said.

    The city who experienced the deflation are Bekasi, Depok, Bogor and Bandung. While the rate of inflation from January to October 2015 recorded 1.75% and the inflation rate year on year (yoy) which is in October 2015 to October 2014 reached 5.58%.
