BANDUNG - The Vice Governor of West Java, Deddy Mizwar is officialy opened The Dance, Music, and Theatre Provincial Level Competition Night which held in Sunan Ambu Building, Indonesia Institute of Culture Arts (ISBI), Bandung from May 28th - May 29th, 2016.
The Vice Governor said that this competition is important and must be continuously held. This Arts and Culture based event could explore the creativity and as a place where young generation could express their passion in either dance, theatre, or music. "This event should be held in continuity so that the creativity and expression of the artist can be evaluated each year," said Deddy.
"That is the importance of a festival, a continuous competition, it is a place for our young generation to explore their potential," he adds.
This competition is designed to bring the people with healthy competition, education, and with high cultural value. Aside of that, This event in which around 300 participants competed in, gives the chance to every artist to show their potential in a big forum in order to aqcuire new experience.
"In this event, Artists are allowed to express their creativity as free as they can. This event also hoped to encourage the artists to develop their creativity even further, and also this event acts as a challenge for those artists to raise their competitiveness," he said.
This event is also hoped to raise the regional income through arts and culture based economy. In the field of tourism, this event could attract the attention of tourists. Beside being a tourist attraction, this event also acts as a promotional event of Indonesian arts and culture.
Thus, Deddy expressed his appreciation to all party that have supported the implementation of this event including to the participants. To them they said that "Keep up the good work, don't be afraid to express what you have inside your heart and mind. Be who you really are and be truthful so that your works could touch the hearts of thousands of audience," he said.
As for the judges, they come from academic background, artists, and practitioners.
Deddy also said that in conjunction with the SMK/SMA management take over that is going to be implemented next year, he wants that there is a new vocational school that is focusing on arts and culture so that the arts and culture of West Java could be explored to its full potential.
"We have to consider the readiness of the teacher," he said.
Also present during the event are The Head of The Second Commission of The House of Representative of West Java, The Heads of The Goverment Institutions, The Head of West Java Cultural Council, Rector of ISBI, and the artists of West Java.
