BANDUNG-National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), as a government agency, always make recommendations to all cities in Indonesia, especially a city that has an extreme disaster. This statement was made Director of Disaster Risk Reduction and BNPB, Lili Kurniawan.
Lili said, related to the demand of The Mayor of Bandung, Ridwan Kamil, who is expecting their discussion on Lembang Fault, it makes scenarios of possible disasters in Bandung caused by shifting fault.
"Bandung has a threat in terms of geology, no fault dent and others, we make such a scenario, we do not expect there is a disaster in Bandung but the important coordinating who does what and so forth," he said.
According to Lili, the most important event of a disaster is the capacity and the role of people in Bandung itself that should be emphasized.
"The most important is its capacity, the public should have a capacitance of responsibility or readiness to face catastrophic," said Lili, told reporters after speaking at the opening of PIT-3, at the ITB West Hall, Monday (23/05).
Lili said, now the community is no longer an object in disaster situations but should already be the subject in the face of disaster.
"People is not an object, but the subject or the perpetrators, which moves the community and the government should empower people," he said. (Parno)
