    Aher Approved Farmers' Wage Proposal



    BANDUNG - The Governor of West Java, Ahmad Heryawan welcomes farmers' proposal regarding farmers' wage procurement as expressed by Aher in a discussion with the head of Indonesian Farmers Movement (GANTI), Rochmin Dahuri in Indonesia Menggugat Building (GIM), Jl. Perintis Kemerdekaan, Bandung on Monday (16/5).

    "It is indeed for the welfare of the fishermen. in order to keep our fishermen fishing, they need to have a stable income. The goal is to sustain food sufficiency because, or main food source is agriculture and fisheries," He said.

    According to Aher, the wage can be in various forms, it does not have to be some amount of money that is given monthly. "We can give them continuous subsidy in a form of capital, seeds, fertilizer and many other forms," He said.

    Aher also purposes that it is better to establish a Fishermen Bank, so that their access to the bank is easy. The bank would also provide the farmers with capital. In the proposal it is stated that the farmers are worth of 2,5 - 3 million wage a month. (PUN)
