BANDUNG-General Directorate of Customs (DJBC) Bandung succeed to thwart the smuggling of 30 thousands seed lobster.
Discomfiture smuggling lobster seed was carried out in the Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung on October 16.
Director for Enforcement and Investigation General Directorate of Customs Harry Mulya said discomfiture was based on investigations and suspicions of baggage that belong to passengers Indonesian citizen who travel to Singapore.
"Initially we had an investigation on suspicion of 6 pieces of luggage belonging to 3 Indonesian passengers who travel to Bandung-Singapore. After we do the examination proved in which there are tens of thousands of seeds lobster that will be smuggled through Singapore to Vietnam,” he said at a press conference at the customs office Bandung, on Wednesday (28/10).
According to Harry Mulya, based on the Regulation of the Minister of Fisheries and Marine PM No. 1 in 2015, lobster, rajungan and crab including prohibited catches todays.
"So, lobster, rajungan and crab are now prohibited catches or for sale. This regulation came out to protect marine species from over-exploitation,” he said.
The lobster seed as the evidence had just released back into the waters of Pelabuhan Ratu Sukabumi, while the three citizen has been detained by suspects authorities.
