    Indonesia Becomes The Host of The Annual Islamic Bank Development Meeting 2016



    JAKARTA - This year, Indonesia is going to host The 41st Annual Islamic Bank Development Meeting 2016. This is the result of the 39th ST IDB in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 2014. ST IDB is an annual meeting of Governor Council of IDB which will be held in the member countries.
    The 41st ST IDB is going to be held in Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) on May 15 - 19, 2016 and will be attended by 56 member countries of IDB. The event is going to be attended by around 1.500 participants and is going to be opened by President Joko Widodo on May 17, 2016.
    As the Head of Governor Council of IDB, The Minister of Monetary, Bambang P. S. Brodjonegoro will lead the meeting. As for the series of events that will take place on the meeting are the meeting of directing board that is going to be held on May 15, 2016; Seminar on May 15-17, 2016; and the Governor council meeting on May 18-19, 2016; and exhibition of May 15-19,2016.
    From those series of events, according to the plan, the seminar will be divided into six major topics. They are Coordination and Technical Cooperation for Development Network Accross IDB Member Countries. Second, Resilience Development Initiative for IDB Member Countries. Third, Advancing Islamic Impact Investing for the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Fourth, Innovative Sharia Financing to Fight against Poverty. Fifth, Micro Sharia Market Deepening for Inclusive Finance. Sixth, Sharia Fund Safeguards on Infrastructure Islamic Finance.
    Various speakers will present their paper on the seminar, both local and international speakers. The speakers are The Minister of Monetary himself; The Minister of Education and Culture, Anies Baswedan; Earth Institute Director Columbia University dan Nobel Laureates Mr. Jeffrey Sachs; and some prominent person from international institution such as the World Bank, United Development Program and Bill & Mellinda Gates Foundation.
    In the seminar, Indonesia will propose two sub-topics. They are the development of infastructure and inclusive economy. The proposal is considered in lining with the national development priority while still being relevant with the development agenda of another IDB countries.
    Meanwhile, one of the side event of ST IDB 2016 is the exhibition. The theme of the exhibition is Innovation, Infrastructure Development and Inclusive Economy. As for the innovation theme, IDB will be focusing on youth development, healthy, and Labor.
    According to the plan, The exhibition will not only be attended by IDB countries but also domestic businessman. As the host of the event, Indonesia through The Ministry of Monetary will invite participants from the ministry or institution; regional government; banking and other economic sector; academics; abd SMEs.
