    BKKBN of West Java Attempting KB Participant Won’t Drop Out


    BANDUNG-Head of National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) West Java Province Sugar said that his institution is continue to attempts of Family Planning (KB) participant will be long-lasting KB participant.

    “If people lack of contraception such as injection or pills, people can visit to private maids, doctor, community health centers (Puskesmas) or hospital. They can substitute the injection contraception into long term contraceptive methods (MKJP) like implant or IUD. Or they can try the KB Mandiri. We attempt that they will not drop out (DO),” said Sugilar after attending the commemoration of anniversary 53rd BKOW West Java to the reporters.

    Besides constantly trying to reduce the drop out rate, they also continues to strive  attract the productive couples to do family planning. The strategy is by collecting data, counselling and motivation about the importance of being KB acceptors.

    "Counselling is done continuously to the different levels of the family. We do approach to BKOW, the units of women's organizations. Hopefully through these women's organizations, our message about the importance of family planning received by the target effectively,” he said.

    Issue of KB is not just by stoping the birth, but how exactly we control the birth related to the welfare of family. Distance of the birth should so arranged. And also should concern to age of women who bear. It was to be expected.

    “There are many children, but not qualified, that we did not expect. Two children are enough,” he said.
