SUBANG-Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar stressed the intensification efforts in the development of rice production in West Java should be more emphasised than the expansion of agricultural land.
According to him, the organic rice farming system proved more can increase productivity with using the existing land. This is expressed by Deddy Mizwar when the organic rice harvest time in Subang, Monday, October 26, 2015.
"With the intensification of this organic system, proved rice production can be increased compared by conventional agriculture using chemical fertilisers. If this can be developed, we should focus on develop the intensification efforts than adding the new farmland,” he said.
Vice Governor also expects on private sector’s role in the development of organic farming for increasing the scale of the rice production.
"We hope that the private sector's role increasing, then certainly provincial government will facilitate through the appropriate authority,” he said.
Through intensification efforts, the target of rice production in West Java in 2015 is more than 12 thousand tons will be fullfiled.
