CIANJUR- Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar together with the Minister of Industry Saleh Husin and Minister of Labour and Transmigration Hanif Dhakiri inaugurated a new factory producing Nike shoes in Cianjur, West Java (27/10). PT. Pou Yuen Indonesia is a foreign company from Taiwan that stands on an area of 40 hectares in Sukasirna village, Sukaluyu District, Cianjur, West Java.
In his speech, Vice Governor of West Java delivered that West Java is still be favourites foreign investment, such as in the footwear industry.
"Realization of investment in West Java in 2014 reached Rp 108 trillion or greater than the target of Rp 85 trillion. Realization of Several foreign investment (PMA) in West Java in 2014 amounting to Rp 70 trillion, with labour absorption of 311,000 people. And realisation the domestic investment plan (PMDN) amounting to Rp 37.9 trillion with labour absorption of 84,000 people,” he continued.
This event also attended by Deputy Economic Trade Office Indonesia (KDEI) Taiwan Arief Fadhilah, chairman of Taiwan's Pou Chen Group in Indonesia Aaron Chan, Vice President of Nike Asia Sourcing & Manufacturing, and General Manager of Nike Indonesia Collette Hemmington.
Pou Chen Group, the parent company of PT. Pou Yuen Indonesia stated that the employment plan for 2015-2019 will absorb 3,000 people up to 15,000 people in 2019 to come. The production capacity is another component between the mid sole shoes as much as 4 million pairs per year, sports shoes production capacity of 10 million pairs per year.
