    Rice prices in West Java Continue to Increase

    BANDUNG - Rice production in West Java is predicted to reach more than 9 hundred thousand tons of dry milled rice (GKG), on the other hand rice prices in October 2018 continue to increase.

    West Java's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that in October 2018, the average price of Dry Grain Harvest (GKP) at the West Java Farmer Level was Rp 5,152.61 per kg, up 2.15 percent compared to the September 2018 GKP price of Rp 5,044.06 .

    While the average price of GKP at the Milling level is Rp 5,286.75 per kg, up 2.24 percent from Rp 5,170.75. For Dry Grain (GKG) at the Farmer Level rose 1.87 percent from Rp 5,444.88 to Rp 5,546.61 per kg, and at the Milling Rate rose 1.96 percent from Rp 5,573.72 to Rp 5,683.22 per kg.

    In October 2018, the average price of premium quality rice in the mill was Rp. 10,268.28 per kg, up by 0.01 percent compared to the previous month Rp. 10,268,14. The average price of medium quality rice in the mill is Rp 9,682.14 per kg, down 1.09 percent from Rp 9,788.89.

    "Low quality rice in mills in October 2018 is Rp. 9,000.00 per kg, down 3.22 percent from Rp. 9,300," he said.

    West Java BPS also informed the West Java Rural Area that Household consumption in October 2018 experienced an inflation of 0.48 percent. All expenditure groups experience inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the Transportation and Communication Group with inflation of 0.71 percent.

    The Foodstuffs Group followed with inflation of 0.58 percent. Then the group of processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco with an inflation of 0.46 percent; Clothing Group with inflation of 0.33 percent; Health Group with inflation of 0.27 percent; Housing Group with inflation of 0.21; and the Education, Recreation and Sports Group with inflation of 0.15 percent. jo
