BANDUNG - The Cikembar Airport construction project in Sukabumi Regency will be pushed into the National Strategic Project (PSN). If this is realized, there will be regulatory support related to land acquisition and development.
This was said by the West Java Provincial Secretary (Sekda) Iwa Karniwa after a meeting of the Cikembar Airport discussion with the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of West Java Province, Yerry Yanuar, Head of West Java Province Transportation Agency, Dedi Taufik, and Head of Housing and Settlement Services (Perkim) West Java Bambang Riyanto, at Gedung Sate Bandung, Friday (02/11/18).
"We have that step, pushing to get into PSN, and the Governor will immediately reply to the Minister of Transportation's letter," said Iwa.
However, continued Iwa, even if the Cikembar Airport project is not included in the PSN, it will continue to accelerate its development.
"But the important thing is that we will continue to accelerate by staying on the existing rules," he said.
Iwa hopes that the land acquisition for the 1800 meter-long runway can be completed by the end of this year, so that the physical development can begin at the beginning of 2019 according to the target of the Ministry of Transportation. The budget for construction costs comes from the central government of Rp. 400 billion, with the initial target completed in 2021 or 2022.
"I thank the central government for seeing the seriousness of the West Java Provincial Government regarding Cikembar Airport by allocating a budget," said Iwa.
Iwa explained, the location determination is currently under discussion because it must be in accordance with the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW). The Sukabumi District Government has included a revised RTRW and is now being processed in the province to be forwarded to the center.
"We ourselves are now carrying out accelerating steps where we were in the meeting to immediately make a letter to the DPRD to be discussed at the board meeting," said Iwa.
It is expected that the revision of the West Java RTRW Regulation can be completed quickly because it is closely related to the next step, namely land acquisition.
"The location is certainly related to the RTRW," Iwa said.
Cikembar Airport is located in Cikembar District, Sukabumi Regency and is also close to Sukabumi City. The existence of the airport is very important to support development in the southern Sukabumi region which is rich in tourism potential. Particularly in supporting the existence of the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark that Unesco has set to become a world heritage.
